How
to Apply?
Saint
Mary's College welcomes applications from international students. For
those students who are permanent residents or citizens of the United States,
please complete the regular Application
for Admission and Scholarship. Admission is based
on grades and curriculum in a secondary course of study, command of English
as demonstrated through standardized testing, an essay and recommendation.
A candidate's file will be evaluated when all information has been submitted.

To
be considered for Admission, an International Student must submit
the following items:

1.)
The completed International
Application for Admission and Scholarship - Note:
this application is submittable on-line.
If
you would rather download and print out an
application along with the necessary supplemental forms, see
below.
2.)
An essay on one of the topics listed on the application.
3.) A $30 non-refundable application fee (either in the
form of a check drawn on a US bank or in the form of an international
money orderwe do not accept credit cards for payment of application
fees, please do not send cash)
4.) A complete, official, certified and true copy of the
secondary school record and any post-secondary coursework. All
records must be translated to English by a person other than the
applicant or applicants family. Also, certified copies of any state
or national exam results are required, e.g. IGCSE, GCE "A" level,
Senior School Secondary Exams, etc.
5.) One Administration/Counselor Recommendation
6.) Official score reports from the Test of English
as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) (www.toefl.com)
and the SAT I: Reasoning Test (www.collegeboard.com).
If your native language is not English or if the language of instruction
in your secondary school is not English you must take the TOEFL
. Information on test dates and registration for both these exams
can be found through the links provided to both websites. Please
note: SAT II subject tests (writing, math IIc, and a foreign language)
are not required for admission but are used for placement of entering
first year students.
7.) The completed Certification
of Finances form*
- this is part of the necessary supplemental
forms that you may download, see
below.

These materials
should be submitted as early as possible, as applications are considered
on a rolling basis after December 15. However, if you are an
outstanding student both in the classroom and outside, but cannot
afford the cost of a Saint Marys education, and wish to be
considered for the one
intensely competitive International Scholarship (that covers tuition,
room & board, fees, health insurance, and books and provides a part-time
campus job), you must have all necessary pieces required for an admission
decision, plus a separate International Student Financial Aid Application*
by January 15. *

Methods of Application:
1.) On-line
forms are available. Please note, the International
Application for Admission and Scholarship can be filled out and
submitted on-line. However, the Certification of Finances, Administrator/Counselor
Recommendation, and International Student Financial Aid Application
(if applying for the competitive International
Scholarship) must be printed out from the website and filled
in.
2.) Printing
out all forms all forms can be printed from our website,
filled in and mailed to our office along with academic transcripts,
application fee, and any supplemental information you wish to provide.

3.) Request a
hard copy of our international application packet this can
be done one of the following ways:
If accepted, you should indicate your desire to reserve a place on campus
by submitting a $200 deposit, which is refundable if the College is notified
in writing by May 1.
Upon receipt of the
deposit and verification of financial responsibility, an I-20 form will
be sent to you for use in obtaining an F-1 student visa. More specific
information regarding applying for a student visa*
will be sent with your I-20.
