Book Club
Our next meeting with be another fun one! We are meeting at the home of Janet Krueger '69 for a joint book club meeting and Christmas party. Janet is cooking dinner for us! The date is set for Monday Dec. 1 at 7:00. Janet's address is

We will be discussing Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen.

Also, we will be donating hats, mittens, gloves & scarves to Grand Rapids Public Schools again this winter. Please bring your donation with you to Janet's house. They will be your ticket in the door for her Holiday Dinner!

ONE MORE THING!!
We are also planning a book exchange on December 1. Please bring a wrapped book to share. This could be your favorite book, the latest best seller, a referral from a friend, a classic or even a trashy novel. Your choice.

For our quick readers, our January book is entitled Love Marriage by V.V. Ganeshananthan.  We have a connection to the author, so we might be able to work out another author conference call for this book!

Book Club Updates
Our book club continues to be very active. To start out 2008, we had two movie outings (to see The Kite Runner and Atonement, both previous book selections). What a better way to take away the January blues! We continued our schedule of meeting every other month, including our most recent book, When Shadows Fell at Notre Dame, by Peter K. Connolly.  We met at the home of Janie Boeschenstein '89, and our meeting included a phone conversation with the author himself!
