IVW : installation, video and the web

Art 290 : Installation, Video & the Web, a team-taught, special topic tandem, was offered for the first time in Fall, 2005 with the support of  a DCUT grant from The Center for Academic Innovation (CFAI). Additional support was provided by Information Technology (IT) and The Huisking Foundation.  Working between the sculpture and fiber disciplines, students explored INSTALLATION and this art form’s relationship to  time, space, body and object.   VIDEO and INTERNET projects were central to the creation and exploration of contemporary offline and online installations.  Video was a primary component within installations as well as a form of documentation for temporary, site-specific works and performance.  Students also worked with Macromedia Flash to create an interactive website that extended their installations into virtual space.

Instructors : Krista Hoefle and Julie Tourtillotte
