Scores 1,000th Career Point in Loss to Albion

Bridget Boyce scored 16 points and became the sixth Saint Mary’s
player to score 1,000th career points but Albion used a strong
inside game and rebounding effort en route to a 77-58 win over
Saint Mary’s Wednesday evening in MIAA women’s basketball
action.
In addition to hitting the 1,000 point milestone, Boyce hit
her 128th career three-pointer which ties former Belle Julie
Radke for most career three-point field goals in school history.
The win lifts the Britons record to 16-8 overall and 8-7 in
league played while the Belles fall to 11-13 and 9-6 respectively.
Albion outscored Saint Mary’s in the paint, 32-14, while
posting a rebounding edge of 42-32 in the win.
Albion put the game away in the first half with a strong shooting
effort from beyond the arc, nailing 66.7 percent (8-for-12) of
their shots. The Belles never got closer in the second half then
the final margin.
