Saint Mary’s placed four players in double figures as they
knocked off Alma 74-68 Saturday afternoon in MIAA action at Cappaert
Gymnasium.
The victory lifts Saint Mary’s to 3-5 overall and 2-1
in MIAA play. The Belles 2-1 league record is their best start
in conference games since officially joining the league in the
1998-99 season.
In the game the Belles recorded season highs in three-pointers
made (10) and free throws made (22).
Leading the scoring drive for the Belles was Bridget Lipke who
tied for game high honors with 17-points while dishing out seven
assists and grabbing five rebounds in 36 minutes. Allison Kessler
scored 15 points while playing a team high 37 minutes.
Bridget Boyce and Erin Newsom each posted 14 points to round
out the double figures scorers for the Belles.
