Sister Agnes Eileen Walshe,
CSC
(March
5, 1914 - January 7, 2007)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please, join in prayer of thanksgiving
for this Sister of the Holy Cross who
died on January 7, 2007.
Wake Service: 4:00 p.m. Monday, January 8
Mass and Burial: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 9
In the Church of Our Lady of Loretto
Comments of the Sisters who have lived with her in recent years describe
her as a delightful, gracious woman, a gifted artist, a beloved teacher
who loved all things beautiful. Her appreciation and love of things
beautiful flowed naturally from her own artistic ability. This giftedness
was passed on to many students that received individual art lessons
from her. She nurtured in them the same delicate approach to the beauties
of nature that were so much a part of her own gentle personality.
Being the ninth of ten children helped form her spirit of generosity
and willingness to share herself, her talents, her time and her ideas.
Sister, an avid reader, kept her mind active and alert through books,
particularly biographies that were her favorite. Information gleaned
from this wonderful hobby enriched her life and the lives of those
around her.
She had two sisters who were Sisters of the Holy Cross: Sister Lillian
Therese and Sister Eleanor Francis, and these devoted religious no
doubt influenced her decision to follow them into religious life.
