Thanksgiving Pot Luck
November 15, 2007

Before the prayer, Debby Kelly invited those gathered in the Great Hall of Le Mans to remember that this is the year of celebration of the Beatification of Blessed Basil Anthony Moreau. In remembrance of this event his portrait was relocated to the West wall of the Great Hall.   The Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross sent special cards and medals of Blessed Basil Moreau for faculty and staff of Saint Mary's College.  Both are available in baskets located beneath the portrait.

Congratulations to JudeAnne Wilson who won the 50/50 raffle.  $230 is divided between JudeAnne and The Twelve Days of Christmas project.

Thank you to everyone who contributed nonperishable items for the St. Vincent de Paul Society for Christmas baskets.  Your generosity provided 196 cans, 53 boxes, 12 jars, 32 packets and 21 other items for people in need.

Loving God,

At this time of Thanksgiving, we thank you for the love which we do not deserve, yet is poured out on us so lavishly.

We thank you for all that you give each of us every day – good health, the food and drink of which we are about to partake, the homes that you provide us for shelter, our job at Saint Mary’s College, and the many friendships we each share.

Fill our hearts with your love,
Stir up within us that same compassion for those who do not enjoy all of these gifts.

 Help us to act upon that compassion by assisting those who suffer from poor health, by providing for those who don’t have enough to eat or drink, for helping those who are homeless and unemployed and by reaching out to those who don’t have families and friends with whom to share the holidays.

As our hearts are filled with good intentions, change us and turn us around that we might become a sign of your goodness, your mercy and your peace.
