All new students are registered in the Blackboard system at the beginning of the year and periodically during the add period. This is done using official information from the administrative database. We do not have access to student's regular password and so are forced to give each student a temporary password. We generally use each student's STUDENT-ID ( in most cases, Social Security Number) as their temporary PASSWORD. Students should use their STUDENT-ID when first connecting to BLACKBOARD but can change this in Student Tools once connected. Please change passwords so as to use the same password on all systems. Changing the password only has to be done once in Blackboard and this change affects all Blackboard courses.

Procedure: When connecting to a Blackboard course, you will be asked to supply your username and password before connecting. If you experience any difficulties at this stage, repeat the process once or twice. If problems continue, use the "Forgot your password" link on the login page. After supplying your name and username (e.g. jone3456) or email address you will be sent instructions in email in a matter of minutes. If this fails, ask for help at the Information Technology Help Desk, LeMans 75, in the Le Mans Lower Level, or the Instructional Technology Resource Center, in the Library Lower Level.

If your instructor has not enrolled you electronically (e.g. you added the course late or are a ND student whose add slip is still being processed) you can connect to a Blackboard course but it is more difficult to find the correct course. If you can locate the course on the Blackboard Course Catlog, you should see an ENROLL button on the lower left side of the screen that means that you do not yet have full access to certain online resources your instructor may provide. Click this button, and supply your password when asked. If all goes well you will now be fully enrolled, signifying that you have access to all resources. Remember to use file > exit to close your browser connection when finished using CourseInfo.

To change your password, click on the Student Tools button after enrolling, and use Change Your Information to enter a new password. This new password will take effect for all CourseInfo courses.
