The first
thing you must do when creating a webpage is DEFINE THE SITE. This is
key to the development of your site. The following is how to define
your site:
After
you have opened Dreamweaver, go up to the SITE option on the menu
across the top of the screen, and then go down to DEFINE SITE
The
following will then appear on your screen:
Now,
click on the option that says MY SITE, or MY HOMEPAGE.
Then click the "EDIT" option on the right part of the menu.
If an option such as "My Site" or "My Homepage"
does not appear, select "NEW" from the right part of the
menu. Then the following will appear:
Make
sure that the Local Root Folder box says "H:\\WWW\".
This makes sure that the computer is reading your website files from
your WWW folder. Also, write in the college homepage address in the
HTTP Address box.
After
you do this, press OK, and then it will go back to the original
menu, and click DONE.
After
you have clicked DONE on the original menu that came up, a
new window with names of files will appear. You need not do anything
with this. You can simply close it.
