Make sure you are logged in to your network directory, and make sure the Scanner is connected to AC Power and Turned On. There should be a green light on the top.. If there is an amber light too, that’s OK. If no lights at all press the button on top.

  1. Load the slide carrier (a black strip of plastic with places where four 35 mm slides can be attached): The slide carrier should be placed on a table with the arrows at one end facing up. Place slides into the carrier with the emulsion (slightly duller side of the film) side down. The slides must be positioned in what might be called landscape orientation or you will get an error when scanning. Orient the slide carrier so the arrows face upward, pointing toward the slot on the scanner. Gently push the slide carrier into the scanner, until the yellow LED turns off and the slide carrier is positioned by the device.
  2. Start the PolaColor Insight program from its folder on the hard drive. Doubleclick PolaColor Insight.
  3. In the program window that opens, select the type of media you are scanning from the Input List on the Preview Panel. Normally the recommended choice will be "Color Slide" when using 35 mm. Slides.
  4. Check that the monitor type is PC Monitor (Viewsonic) or Apple Monitor.
  5. Select the number of the carrier frame you want to scan in the Frame Number box
  6. Click Preview. The image appears on the Preview panel.
