What
can and cannot be borrowed?
The
interlibrary loan department is generally able to arrange
loans of books, monographs, theses, and dissertations.
Photocopies are usually supplied for specific journal
or newspaper articles. Newspapers may be borrowed only
when available in microform.
Certain
materials are seldom available for loan: reference
books, rare books and manuscripts, complete issues
of periodicals or newspapers, maps, sound and video
recordings, and materials in fragile or poor condition.
Some institutions will not loan copies of their theses
or dissertations.
All
members of Saint Mary's College student, faculty, staff
and administration may use Library
Express for
their research and educational needs for materials
the library owns.
If
the material is available at Notre Dame (but not at
Saint Mary's) we must ask you to access it
on their campus, the interlibrary loan form will be
returned to the sender and the request will not be
filled.
