In
keeping with the mission statement of Saint Mary's College,
the Cushwa-Leighton Library offers a physical and virtual
user-centered environment providing access to information
in a variety of formats in support of the curricular,
research, and information needs of our students, faculty,
and staff, as well as the broader scholarly community.
Goals:
1. To provide a balanced collection of information resources to meet
the curricular, research, and informational needs of the College community.
2.
To develop in users the necessary knowledge, skills and
critical thinking to search for, evaluate, select, and
apply the information they need.
3.
To work collaboratively with other departments to create
a campus-wide learning environment.
4.
To encourage and facilitate access to and use of a variety
of information resources, including those not available
in our library.
5.
To oversee the physical condition of the collection,
maintaining and conserving it for future generations
of users.
6.
To serve as an archival repository for maintaining and
disseminating the scholarship, history and culture of
the College.
