SAINT MARY'S COLLEGE VP ASCENDS TO MOUNT MARY PRESIDENCY

NOTRE DAME, Ind.—After a yearlong national search, Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, Wis., names Saint Mary’s College Vice President for Student Affairs Linda Timm as its next president.

Timm has been a vice president at Saint Mary’s for 11 years and an administrator in higher education for more than 32 years. She will assume the Mount Mary presidency this summer. Like Saint Mary’s, Mount Mary is a Catholic women’s college with a student body of approximately 1,500.

“Linda’s selection is a great personal achievement for her and a fitting outcome for an exemplary career in higher education,” says Saint Mary’s College President Carol Ann Mooney. “During her tenure she has shown a consistent level of professional competence and complete devotion to our students. We will miss Dr. Timm at Saint Mary’s.”

As vice president for student affairs, Timm administers and supervises numerous departments, including athletics and recreation, counseling and career development, health and wellness services, residence life, student activities, security and safety, and multicultural affairs.

Timm is recognized nationally as a leader in student affairs. She was a founding board member and former president of the Association for Student Affairs at Catholic Colleges and Universities. Her leadership in that organization was recognized last year when she was named director emeriti. She was also a founding member of the Association for Student Judicial Affairs, and served as that group’s president.

Timm holds three degrees from Illinois State University: a bachelor’s degree in communication, and a master’s and doctorate in educational administration and foundations.
