Saint Mary's Seniors Win Sociology Competition NOTRE DAME, Ind.—Two Saint Mary's College sociology seniors won awards at the North Central Sociological Association's annual undergraduate student paper competition last week. The competition is open to all students in the United States and Canada. Mary Kathleen (Katie) Dingeman won first place for her paper titled "From War to 'Refuge: A Case Study of Liberian Refugees Resettled in South Bend, Ind." Sarah (Sam) Medina won third place for her paper titled "(Sexual) Minority Report: A Survey of Student Attitudes Regarding the Social and Cultural Environment for Sexual Minorities."
