International Baseball Conference at Saint Mary’s College

SOUTH BEND, Ind.—The Saint Mary’s College Club Baseball Program will host the fifth International Women’s Baseball Leadership Conference on Friday and Saturday, April 13-14, at Saint Mary’s. The focus of this
year’s conference is “Getting Girls in the Game of Baseball.”

Former major league baseball pitching coach Bob Cluck is the keynote
speaker. He will also offer a baseball talk and clinic from 9 a.m. to 11
a.m. on Saturday morning in the Angela Athletic Facility.

Conference attendees will also hear presentations by Justine Siegal,
president of the Women’s Baseball League (WBL) and founder of the
Leadership Conference, and Terri Lakowski, public policy coordinator for the Women’s Sports Foundation. Siegal will discuss youth girls’
baseball, and Lakowski will discuss how to address discrimination
against girls in baseball.

Conference registration costs $65 for adults (age 18 and up) and $30 for
students. This includes all sessions, lunch, and the Saturday clinic.
The Friday sessions and keynote luncheon costs $50. The keynote luncheon only is $35. The Saturday clinic is $10, and pre-registration is required.

Previous conferences have been held in Cleveland, Baltimore, Orlando,
and Toronto. This conference was made possible by a grant from the Saint Mary’s College Center for Women’s InterCultural Leadership (CWIL).
