New Vice President Leads Student Affairs Division at Saint Mary’s College PHOTO ATTACHEDNOTRE DAME, Ind.— Saint Mary’s College welcomes Karen Johnson as its new vice president of student affairs. Johnson fills the vacancy left by Dr. Linda Timm, who recently became president of Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, Wis. Johnson comes to Saint Mary’s College from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas, where she held several positions, including director of residence life, interim vice president for student development and, most recently, dean of students. Johnson holds a master’s degree in human resource development from Webster University. She has received additional training and education from Harvard University and Texas A&M University. Johnson has longstanding affiliations with numerous professional organizations, including the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, the Association of Student Affairs at Catholic Colleges and Universities, and the Center for Academic Integrity. “Saint Mary’s will definitely benefit from the knowledge and wisdom that an experienced professional like Karen brings to the table,” says Dr. Carol Ann Mooney, president of Saint Mary’s College. “But perhaps just as important as her skill set is her energy and genuine love of the job.” In her role as student affairs vice president, Johnson is responsible for administering and supervising numerous departments, including athletics and recreation, counseling and career development, health and wellness services, residence life, student activities, and multicultural affairs. ### |
