Fall Choral Concert at Saint Mary’s Features Collegiate, High School Voices

NOTRE DAME, Ind.—The Saint Mary’s College Department of Music presents a fall choral concert combining voices from four different choirs: The Collegiate Choir and the Women’s Choir from Saint Mary’s, the Lakeshore High School Women’s Chorus (Stevensville, Mich.), and the LaPorte High School Treble Chorale (Ind.). The event is Thursday, Nov. 10 at 7:30 p.m. in O’Laughlin Auditorium. It is free and open to the public.

The concert, under the direction of conductor and Saint Mary’s Music Professor Nancy Menk, features works by Felix Mendelssohn, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Libby Larsen, Carol Barnett, Paul Carey and others.

The Saint Mary’s College Women’s Choir, a select 40-voice ensemble, regularly commissions and performs new works for women’s voices. The Choir has performed throughout the United States and has appeared in concert at Carnegie Hall in 1999 and 2001. They will return there this November to perform music by Gwyneth Walker for women’s voices and orchestra.
