In this course we will study the process by which public policy is formulated and implemented in America. How do issues get on the agenda of the nation? How does the political system develop items on the agenda into policy? How is policy implemented by the executive branch? In answering these questions we will constantly consider how democratic the process is. We will focus on three particular policies: veterans affairs, economic development, and the budget.
