Dorothy
Feigl
Dorothy
Feigl holds the Denise DeBartolo York Faculty Chair in
Science and teaches chemistry at Saint Mary’s College.
She received the Spes Unica and the Maria Pieta awards
for her exemplary performance in the classroom. She is
the author of journal articles on organic chemistry as
well as textbooks on chemistry for students in the health
sciences. Feigl has served as the faculty regent and vice
president and dean of faculty. She has taught at Saint
Mary's College since 1966. She graduated with valedictory
honors from Loyola University Chicago and received a Ph.D.
from Stanford University. |

Philip
Hicks
Philip
Hicks is associate professor and chair of the humanistic
studies department at Saint Mary's. He earned a B. A.
in history from the University of Notre Dame, an M. A.
from Cambridge University (Selwyn College), and an M.
A. and Ph. D. from the Johns Hopkins University, where
he was a Mellon fellow in the humanities. He is the author
of Neoclassical History and English Culture: From Clarendon
to Hume as well as the author of articles on women, civic
humanism and the uses of the past in 18th-century Britain
and America. Hicks began teaching at Saint Mary's College
in 1989. |

Joseph
Incandela
Joseph
Incandela is a professor of religious studies at Saint
Mary's College. He completed a bachelor’s degree
summa cum laude in philosophy and theology at the University
of Notre Dame and a master’s of arts and a doctor
of philosophy from Princeton University’s Department
of Religion. Incandela is listed in Who’s Who Among
America’s Teachers. He has authored articles on
medieval theology, Christian ethics, and contemporary
philosophy of religion. Incandela received the Maria Pieta
Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1995. |

Ann
Plamondon
Ann
Plamondon is a professor of communication studies at Saint
Mary’s College. She received her bachelor’s
degree from Furman University, her master’s and
doctorate in philosophy from Emory University, and attended
Loyola University Law School in New Orleans where she
received various honors. Plamondon earned a J.D. magna
cum laude from Notre Dame Law School. She is the co-editor
and author of many publications. The new endowed fund
in her name honors her influence in the communication
studies, dance and theatre department at Saint Mary's,
where she has taught since 1982. She was a recipient of
the Spes Unica Award in 1990. |

Donna
Lubbers ’05
Donna Lubbers came to Saint Mary's College from her hometown
of Holland, Mich. This year she received the NACA Mid-America
Outstanding Undergraduate Award. Lubbers is a presidential
scholar, a recipient of the National Saint Catherine’s
Medal, and has received numerous other academic and service
awards. Lubbers is chair of community relations on the Student
Diversity Board. The title of her senior comprehensive project
was “A Study of Site-Directed Mutagenesis in the GATA-1/DNA
Interaction.” |

Dawn
Eschenauer ’05
Dawn Eschenauer came to Saint Mary's College from her
hometown of Corunna, Ind. She is majoring
in philosophy and English writing with a minor in intercultural
studies. An academic honors student, Eschenauer has volunteered
with Peacemakers and served as a reading coach under the
auspices of the Indiana Reading Corps program. The title
of her senior comprehensive project was “A Child's
Song.”
