Forecasts
of frigid temperatures and heavy snowfall couldn’t
dampen the spirits of the trustees, faculty, staff,
administrators and students who toiled in a labor
of love to formally welcome Carol Ann Mooney ’72
as the 11th president of Saint Mary’s College
during the inaugural festivities January 14 and
15. All the events––symposium, community
celebration dinner, Mass of the Blessed Virgin
Mary and inaugural ceremony of Saint Mary’s
first lay alumna president––were an
opportunity to reflect on 160 years of Catholic
women’s education and to continue to look
to the future and Saint Mary’s place in higher
education. |
