Beauty, Justice, and Faith in Action

Ready to get a taste of college life, build community, and engage intellectually with matters of faith and religion? The Embody Theology Summer Institute offers high school girls a six-day stay on beautiful Saint Mary’s campus, the first institution to grant women advanced degrees in theology. In the tradition of empowering women’s leadership, participants will meet people from across the country, learn about themselves, develop valuable pre-college academic skills, and discover what it means to think “theologically.”

Throughout the week participants will:

  • Spend each morning studying and reflecting on the Christian tradition in a classroom setting and earn college credit
  • Learn about women’s contributions to the academic study of theology and service to the world
  • Build friendships in a small group led by a Saint Mary’s College student mentor
  • Engage your heart and hands in outdoor experiential learning, including at Saint Mary’s sustainable farm
  • Begin and end each day practicing different types of Christian prayer
  • Eat in a dining hall, sleep in the dorms, and enjoy fun evening activities like karaoke, campfire s’mores, crafts, or sports

At Embody, you will develop the skills and the support to ask big questions about who God is, what it means to be human, and what justice looks like while immersing yourself in Saint Mary’s beautiful campus.

Upon completion of the program, participants will receive one hour of elective college credit from Saint Mary's College!
