Welcome to BelleAire at Saint Mary's College!

To configure your Windows XP Professional Edition computer to use DHCP on wireless:

  1. Click on the Start button and select Control Panel.
  2. Double-click on Network Connections.
  3. Double-click on Wireless Network Connection.
  4. Click on the Properties button at the bottom of the window.
  5. In the Local Area Connection Properties window, select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) by clicking on it once, then click on the Properties button.
  6. Make sure Obtain an IP Address automatically is selected.
  7. Make sure Obtain DNS server address automatically is selected.
  8. Click on the Advanced button.
  9. Click on the WINS tab.
  10. In the NetBIOS setting box, select Default (Use NetBios setting from the DHCP server).
  11. Click OK.
  12. Click OK in the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window.
  13. Click OK in the Local Area Connection Properties window.
  14. You may be prompted to restart your computer. Please restart your computer now so the settings will take effect.
