How do I install and use Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware software on my computer?
Anti-Malware runs on computers with Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7.
These instructions assume that your computer has a working Internet connection.
Please move ahead to Section B.
Please move ahead to Section C.
Double-click on the mbam-setup.exe icon (which should be on your computer's desktop unless you saved it in another location).
If you see a Security Warning window asking if you want to run the file, click Run.
The installer will ask you to select a setup language. Make sure the installer is set to English and click OK.
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware's installation program will launch on your computer. Click Next.
Read the license agreement and click the button next to I accept the agreement.
Click Next.
Click Next.
Click Next so Anti-Malware will install in its default destination location.
Click Next so Anti-Malware will a shortcut in your Start Menu folder.
Click Next so Anti-Malware will create a desktop icon.
Click Install to begin the installation of Anti-Malware.
When the software installation is complete, check the boxes next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.
Click Finish.
Updating Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware will launch and Anti-Malware will download and install the latest database automatically.
Click OK when Anti-Malware has been updated. The program will launch.
Please move ahead to Section D.
You may now drag the mbam-setup.exe file from your computer's desktop to the Recycle Bin. You should not need that file again.
Please move ahead to Section E.
To ensure that Anti-Malware will find the latest malware and remove malicious processes on your computer, you will need to update the definitions file every time you use Anti-Malware to scan your computer. To do so:
Click OK when Anti-Malware has been updated.
Please move ahead to Section F.
For your first scan with Anti-Malware, please click on the Perform Full Scan button and then click on the Scan button.
In the future, if you are doing a routine scan (you should scan your computer on a weekly basis with Anti-Malware), a Quick Scan is all you will need to do. Select the Perform Quick Scan button and then click on the Scan button.
If you do not perform routine Anti-Malware scans and only scan your computer when you think there may be spyware on your computer, please select the Perform Full Scan button and then click on the Scan button for those scans. We would also recommend running Anti-Malware in safe mode in that case - details for starting your computer in safe mode are at the end of this section.
Anti-Malware will scan your computer for adware/spyware.
When the scan is finished, a window will appear saying "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found."
Click the OK button.
Click the "Show Results" button.
Make sure all found items are checked.
Click the "Remove Selected" button.
Anti-Malware will quarantine and then delete the unwanted files. A log of the files removed will appear - you may wish to review the log before closing the log window.
Close the window to quit Anti-Malware.
Restart your computer.
Click on the Perform Full Scan button and then click on the Scan button.
Anti-Malware will scan your computer for adware/spyware.

Click the OK button.
Click the "Show Results" button.
Make sure all found items are checked.
Click the "Remove Selected" button.

Restart your computer. (It is important that you restart the computer in regular mode if you are presented with the option for safe mode).
