Saint Mary's Students are responsible for checking their computer to make sure it is compatible with the software they purchase through the Microsoft Campus Agreement. Students are expected to confirm the compatibity of their own computers before purchasing the Microsoft software.

    Students wishing to upgrade their version of Windows should also refer to their computer's documentation or manufacturer's website to confirm compatibility and the availability of drivers for their computer model.

    The software requirements are listed below, and students should also refer to their computer's documentation or manufacturer's website to confirm compatibility.

    Microsoft offers Windows Upgrade Advisors that students can download and run on their personal computers to make sure they are capable of running either:

    • Windows Vista Ultimate Edition, the Windows Vista operating system that is offered through the Microsoft Campus Agreement.

    • Windows 7 Ultimate Edition, the Windows 7 operating system that is offered through the Microsoft Campus Agreement.

    (ResNet recommends purchasing a computer that has Windows Vista Ultimate Edition, Windows Vista Business Edition, Windows 7 Ultimate Edition, or Windows 7 Professional Edition already installed on it to ensure compatibility.)

    Office 2011 for Mac OS X

      An Intel processor
      At least 1GB RAM
      At least 2.5GB free space on hard drive
      Ability to read DVDs
      1280x800 or higher resolution monitor
      Mac OS X version 10.5.8 or later

    Office 2010 for Windows
