To empty the trash in Zimbra immediately:
- Visit http://webmail.saintmarys.edu
and log in.
- Click on the Trash folder in the left column (it has a trash can icon).
- Empty the trash immediately by right-clicking on the Trash folder and choosing
Empty Trash. (If you are using a Mac with a one-button mouse, hitting the Control
key on your keyboard and clicking will give you the same option to Empty Trash.)
Important note: Messages sent to the trash will automatically be deleted from your
account after ten days. Do not store messages you wish to keep in the Trash folder!
To delete multiple messages in Zimbra, moving them to the trash:
- Visit http://webmail.saintmarys.edu
and log in.
- Zimbra should open to your inbox. If necessary, navigate to the folder with messages
you wish to delete.
- To select multiple consecutive messages you wish to delete,
click on the first message
you wish to delete, then hold the Shift key, then click on the last message you
wish to delete. Drag the selected messages to the Trash, or hit the Delete
key on your keyboard.
- To select multiple non-consecutive messages you wish to delete,
click on the first message
you wish to delete, then hold the Option key (on a Mac) or the Control key on Windows),
then click on the additional messages you
wish to delete. Drag the selected messages to the Trash, or hit the Delete
key on your keyboard.
- To delete a single message,
click on the message you wish to delete, then drag the selected messages to the Trash,
or hit the Delete key on your keyboard.
- The messages will be moved to your trash.
Important note: Messages sent to the trash will automatically be deleted from your
