The College was founded in 1844 and continues to be sponsored by the Congregation

EMPHASIS: Liberal arts/preprofessional
CAMPUS:
The suburban campus includes 275 acres of gardens, fields, woods and walks
along the Saint Joseph River.
LOCATION:
Although our mailing address is Notre Dame, Indiana, Saint Mary's is located
in the city of South Bend, Indiana, Within walking distance of the University
of Notre Dame, we are approximately 90 miles from Chicago and 160 miles
from Indianapolis. Saint Marys is within easy access to the regional

EDUCATIONAL
ADVANTAGES:
11:1 student/faculty ratio. Average class size is 15. Co-exchange programs
with Notre Dame. Opportunities for foreign study, internships and volunteer

RESIDENCE
LIFE:
Approximately 81% of the students live on campus in one of our five residence

THE
STUDENTS:
Approximately 1500 women from 47 states and territories and 12 foreign
countries. Multicultural and international students represent 9% of the
student body.
PROGRAMS
OF STUDY:
Saint Marys offers the B.A., B.B.A., B.S., B.F.A., B.M. and over
30 major areas of study. Click

College and the University of Notre Dame have established a cooperative
engineering degree program. Students may design their own major if they
wish or earn a minor or minors in any of 23 academic areas. To

ATHLETICS:
Saint Marys College provides a complete athletic and recreational
program. The College, an NCAA Division III school, and a member of the
Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, sponsors varsity teams
in tennis, volleyball, soccer, basketball, swimming and diving, golf,
softball and cross-country. Saint Marys women also may participate
in the intramural program and/or clubs in a variety of sports; many offerings
are coeducational with the University of Notre Dame. Learn

FINANCIAL
AID:
In 2005-2006, over 90% of Saint Marys students received nearly
$27 million in financial aid in the form of scholarship, grant, loan
and work opportunities; of these funds, over $11.4 million were from
Saint Marys

ADMISSION:
Competitive. First year applicants should apply by March 1. Transfer
applicants should apply by November 15 for spring semester or April 15
for fall semester. Early Decision applications must be submitted by November
