THE
TALLSHIP RECEPTION WAS A GREAT SUCCESS!
Everyone enjoyed the super happy hour hosted by Candela! Celebrate 2006 was a great time! We were excited to welcome Natalie Bailey and Allison Roche, both 2005 graduates, to their very first Alumnae Club event. Thank you to Joan Muecke 2004 for bringing samples of the vineyard vines tote bags that we will hopefully have for sale later this year!
Nearly a dozen alumnae braved the early morning rain to participate in the Revlon Run Walk for Women on Saturday, April 30, 2005. This was the second year in a row that the New York City Club participated in this important 5K race. Team Captain Lisa Maxbauer Price ’99 is proud to report that the team raised $675 for cancer and would like to thank all the walkers, as well as the generous alums who pledged money for the cause. And the most valuable player award goes to Meghan O’Sullivan ’96 who ambitiously dodged the mud puddles while pushing a stroller that carried her two young sons during the event. Time to Celebrate! Ms. Shari Rodriguez, Vice President for College Relations at Saint Mary's, bestowed upon our club the 2004 Alumnae Club of the Year Award the evening of March 15, 2005. Marguerite Schropp Lucarelli, Lisa Maxbauer Price and Carey O'Neill graciously accepted the engraved plaque. Thank you to Diane McGarry '70, for graciously opening her home and hosting an amazing cocktail party for us. Over twenty-five ladies thoroughly enjoyed the award ceremony and each other's friendship! Celebrate 2005 was a great success! Despite the freezing cold tempature outside, the Stone Rose was the place to be the evening of January 27, 2005. Over thirty alumnae and their guests enjoyed the gorgeous lounge, spectacular views of Central Park and both our old and new Saint Mary's friendships! Many alumnae and their guests enjoyed the oil paintings of artist Suzanne Ritger '87, the evening of September 23, 2004, at the SOHO20 gallery. On display was Suzanne Ritger's collection, Foreign Reflections. We throughly enjoyed meeting the artist and asking interesting questions to better understand Ritger's work. Suzanne Ritger's invitation was well accepted by the art enthusiasts of our Club. Central Park provided us with the perfect setting for our first group meditation presented by Cathy Baiardi, SMC 1971 on July 6, 2004. Cathy led us through a relaxing twenty minute meditation focusing on the seven sacraments. Everyone enjoyed the peaceful evening, French wine and cheese. It truly was a reinvigorating evening! We kicked off our Memorial weekend at Peggy Hill's home Thursday evening! Diane McGarry 1970 was our guest speaker. Diane delivered a beautiful reflection on her 2004 Saint Mary's College commencement address. She is a great role model for women and men! She inspired us all. New friendships were forged with the thirty guests in attendance representing five decades! We would like to thank Peggy Hill for hosting such a wonderful cocktail party! Peggy's generosity to our club is unparalleled. Everyone truly had a great evening! SMC Professor of Business Administration and Economics Michael Sanders and six of his current students thoroughly enjoyed visiting with a few of our club members the evening of May 11, 2004. Professor Sanders and the students were in New York for a week of workshops and lectures. Thank you to Veronica Torres Theodoro 1995, Karen Fink 2003, Shelia Delaney ND 1998, Carey O'Neill 1999, Lisa Maxbauer Price 1999, Kimberly Baldige 1996 and Marguerite Schropp Lucarelli 1993 for sharing their vast knowledge of the work world with the current students. Thank you to all of our club members who united in the fight against women's cancers the morning of May 1, 2004. Lisa Maxbauer Price 1999 held our bright red Saint Mary's College Alumnae Club of NYC sign proud and high as we walked 3.1 miles through Times Square and Central Park with thousands of other participants in the Revlon Walk for Women. We hope our monetary contributions will help find a cure for all cancers! Operation Fairy Dust was a great success! Our club was able to collect beautiful dresses and a few evening bags for high school girls in need of gowns and accessories for their prom. A special thank you to Sara Levandusky Reinthaler 1999, for encouraging her office to donate dresses too! Everyone enjoyed visiting with each other at Kate Kearney's Pub the evening of March 23, 2004, and the drink specials too! Thank you for all the dresses. Alumnae gathered at Chumley’s Bar on the evening of February 18 to celebrate Mardi Gras. The former speakeasy, still hidden behind a sign-less door today, was the perfect cozy spot for cocktails and conversations. While alums chatted about recent career changes and SMC’s newest president, their spouses talked about life with Saint Mary’s women. A special thanks to Michaela (Joyce) Macchiarola ‘93 who made the trip into the city from Long Island especially for the event. A Toast to the Christmas
Season was wonderful! Many alumnae and guests A beautiful afternoon
