Christmas Dinner and Mass

Our annual Christmas party was held, as our club’s tradition has been, on December 8th, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. We celebrated mass, followed by a Saint Mary’s Christmas dinner at Carole Dziminski Klaudt's home.

Notre Dame Football Watching Party
We joined the Dallas/Fort Worth Notre Dame Club at their football watching party at the Fox and the Hound in Richardson as ND played Navy. We hope to do more of these next season as well.

Student Send-Off
Our annual Student Send-Off was held this year at the home of Mary Beth Beauchamp Berry '87. Her daughter, Lauren, was one of the 16 students heading to campus in the weeks following.

Book Club
In August, the book club met at the home of Jennifer Kacarab Holloran ‘92 to discuss Girls in Trucks by Katie Crouch and for our most recent book, we read The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffengegger.

Wine Tasting

Alyson Miller Rau '85 hosted a wine tasting event Sunday, July 12 for our club.  Everyone brought their favorite wine and we covered the labels while we tasted and picked our favorites, then revealed each wine.

Passing on the Torch: Emilie DesJardins '05 takes on the role of Club President
After 5 years of service to the Dallas-Fort Worth Alumnae Club, Andrea Sondag Schweitzer '00 is passing on the role of Club President to Emilie DesJardins '05 who has been serving as the Club's Vice President for the past year and a half. Thank you, Andrea, for your many years of service! Thank you, Emilie, for taking on the position!

Endowed Scholarship Update
In addition to the $7,500+ that had been collected up to the beginning of this year (and the $5,000 contributed by the Lilly Foundation), almost $500 more was contributed to the scholarship fund by those turning in their 2004-2005 dues checks and Christmas party R.S.V.P.s. Thanks for your continued generosity!!! At this point, these contributions permit us to award a $500 scholarship to one of our local students each year.

The Dallas Club looks forward to continued growth and we are especially interested in enticing more younger alumnae to join the club. So, if you are new to the Dallas/Fort Worth area, please do not hesitate to give one of the club officers a phone call to join the club. The club is here to serve our local alumnae and we have over 200 alumnae living in the DFW metroplex. So, go ahead and make that phone call and join the club!!
