Welcome to the Saint Mary's College Board of Governance
Our Mission
We, the members of the Saint Mary's College Board of Governance, are committed to the following mission which illustrates our responsibilities to students, faculty, administrators, staff, alumnae, and guests of Saint Mary's College:
•To have its primary aim the welfare of the students as members of the College community;
•To provide opportunities for student involvement in all aspects of Saint Mary's life: academic, cultural, social, physical, intellectual, occupational, emotional, and spiritual;
•To work to maintain mutual respect and communication among the students, faculty, and administration by providing an objective forum for the free and open exchange of ideas;
•To encourage student leadership by emphasizing the value of individual opinion and through the facilitation of group organization in thought and action;
•To provide services to students as well as provide opportunities for student service within the College community; •To represent the diverse needs of the campus community aspiring to create an environment of open-mindedness and respect in conjunction with our efforts in programming, recruitment, and leadership development;
•To advance the appreciation and respect for honoring our rich traditions while welcoming change as we strive to be pioneers for progressive flexible programming. |
