Other Policy Restrictions (Note: Parallels MIS major restrictions.)

Accounting majors may earn a concentration in another business discipline (i.e., Finance, International, Management or Marketing). A concentration is defined as 1) four courses above the principles level that are 2) not part of the Accounting major. Accounting majors may not double major in Business Administration.

Senior Comprehensive Examination (Note: Uniform across all majors within the BBA degree program.)

The BBA Comprehensive Examination utilizes a case study format. It provides teams of students with an integrative group learning experience and tests technical competencies, problem solving and analysis skills, an awareness of ethical issues, communication and interpersonal skills, and quantitative skills. The case also requires the team to consider international and intercultural ramifications. Students participate in an oral team presentation using presentations software before a panel of faculty members. During the presentation students discuss their results and recommendations to the case project they worked on in BUAD 446 Business Policy. A question and answer period immediately follows in which students respond to questions from panelists. Each team must also submit to the panel their original written and graded case report together with a revised version. The panelists evaluate the entire team as a group and determine whether the team passes or requires further remediation.

Advanced W (Note: Uniform across all majors within the BBA degree program.)
Students must demonstrate writing proficiency in a compiled portfolio of three accepted papers from department courses. For Accounting majors, at least one of the three papers must be in an Accounting course.
