1. Insert a blank CD-R or CD-RW disc into the CD drive.

  2. In the dialog box that appears, type in the desired name of the CD in the Name: field.

  3. Select the Standard format (it may already be already selected).

  4. Click on the "Prepare" button.

  5. An icon for the CD will appear on the desktop. Drag items onto the icon, or double-click the icon so you can drag and arrange files & folders in the CD's window.

  6. Select "Burn CD-R" (or Burn "CD-RW") from the Special menu. Alternatively you could simply eject the CD (drag the icon to the trash or select it and use the File->Put Away command in the Finder) and the CD be burned then immediately ejected.

  7. In the dialog that appears, click the "Burn" button (you can also click on Cancel or Discard, if you decide not to make a CD).
Don't forget to take your new CD with you!
