Saint Mary's College invites you to meet other students from across the United States for an exciting pre-college program. At Encuentro you will develop who you are and who you want to become. You will share in a thought-provoking academic, cultural, and spiritual experience designed especially for you! Encuentro will encourage you to think about your future and preview college life through courses such as history, sociology, math, and art.
Encuentro: Encounter Yourself will help you to:
- Think about your future
- Picture yourself in college
- Develop confidence in your ability to succeed in college
During the week we shall:
- Preview college life
- Take classes taught by Saint Mary’s College professors
- Explore culture and the impact it has in the classroom and on our lives
- Share in the excitement of cultural activities
- Participate in community-bulding exercises and workshops that encourage the development of a positive self-image

Who can participate?
This program is for young women whose parents did not attend college. You must be a current freshman, sophomore, or junior to attend. Encuentro is limited to 30 participants, and each applicant will be considered based on her academic merit, interests, strengths, and community activities.
Cost
All students accepted to the program will receive materials, supplies, and room and board. The fee is $25 for the entire week which includes a non-refundable $10 registration fee that must be included with the application. The $15 balance will be due upon acceptance into the program. Participants will be required to provide their own transportation to and from the program.

Please complete and mail the application form to receive an Encuentro application packet. Please note that space is limited and early application is encouraged. Saint Mary’s has the right to cancel the program if enrollment warrants.
