Faith-Action-Community-Experience
(FACE)
July 9-15, 2006
Life in a complex world demands
that women grow into leadership roles that cross the borders between
various cultures and groups. The Saint Mary's InterCultural Leadership:
A Faith-Action-Community Experience helps high school women entering
grades 10-12 in Fall 2006 gain confidence in their abilities to make
a difference. During the week students will: explore culture and its
impact on our lives; address challenges faced by young people; experience
hands-on team building exercises; practice new ways of intercultural
understanding; participate in a service opportunity in the city of South
Bend; learn different models of women's leadership; and develop a team
project to share their values with others.
The Experience brings together young women from diverse populations to work for positive change in themselves and their communities, and guides students to become the intercultural leaders our complex world needs.
Saint Mary’s College, long a pioneer in the education of women, is committed to preparing women for leadership in the areas of work, church, and community. This week-long summer program offers you an opportunity to grow as an individual and as a leader with Saint Mary's College students, faculty, administrators and leadership role models.
