Intercultural Learning Showcase

All students are welcome to attend the Intercultural Learning Showcase and find out more about CWIL student travel grants for study abroad. Mandatory attendance for all 2005-06 CWIL student grant recipients and students wishing to apply for a 2007-08 CWIL travel grant.

Study Abroad Pre-Departure Orientation

The pre-departure orientation is required for all students who will study abroad in Spring 2007. Two sessions are available and students may attend either one. The orientation will cover important topics, such as, preparation for the trip, health and safety, emergency contact, intercultural development, etc.

"Passions in Rome: Portia Prebys, Director of Rome Program, on AACUPI and Giorgio Bassani

Portia Prebys will address her professional activities and contributions to study abroad in Italy as President of the Association of American College and University Programs in Italy, as well as her field of academic research, the contemporary Italian author, Giorgio Bassani, author of the award-winning novel, The Garden of the Finzi-Continis, also an Academy-award winning film. She will also receive questions on study abroad, in general, and in Italy and how the experience has changed over the last thirty-five years.
International Charity Ball
November 17th, 2006

The International Charity Ball is a dance/ with international food/music, interesting international facts quiz for prizes. Proceeds will go to Global Children Fund, an organization that sells children books educating children about other cultures and showing them how kids can make a huge difference in our world, books like Extraordinary Girls and Children from Australia to Zimbabwe are among the more popular titles. The proceeds from the selling of these books goes to grass roots organizations in developing nations that work on elevating poverty, educating children, and working on children rights in areas where children are often exploited for labor and other abuses. Dress in semiformal. It is five dollars a ticket. The intercultural charity ball is being presented by the Intercultural Living Community Program, Student Diversity Board, Around the World Club, Anthropology Club, La Fuerza, and Sisters of Nefertiti.
