Women's Studies In Europe: Netherlands,      Germany, Poland, United Kingdom, Belgium

Women’s Studies in Europe Program offers a unique opportunity to explore feminist theory in practice across Europe.  The program examines the trends and dynamics of European social, economic, and political systems as they influence contemporary gender theory, policy, and women’s identities.  Students attend lectures and workshops with the program director, visiting professors from European Universities, NGO’s, politicians, practitioners, artists, and activists.

Students will attend lectures and conduct original field research in Brussels, Belgium; Berlin, Germany; Krakow, Poland; Utrecht and Amsterdam, the Netherlands; and London, England.  Students will stay in hostels, pensions, hotels and home-stays in host countries.  While working on independent research questions, student also are enrolled in additional courses work that totals 16 credit hours.  Saint Mary’s offers Women’s Studies in Europe Program through an affiliation with nationally recognized Antioch College.

Offered each fall semester, the program open to students with disciplinary interest in women’s studies and in pending approval from Saint Mary’s Faculty Coordinator.
