PostScript Printer Driver AdobePS 4.1 for Windows 95 -- U.S. English DescriptionThis is the Adobe PostScript printer driver 4.1 (AdobePS) for use only with the Windows 95 operating system. AdobePS 4.1 provides several features not found in the standard Windows 95 PostScript driver, such as watermark printing, additional n-up options, and greater support for many popular applications.
This version of the Adobe PostScript printer driver is only for owners of U.S. English versions of Microsoft Windows 95 who print to PostScript printers.
Adobe recommends this driver only for use with older PostScript Level 1 devices. To determine what level of PostScript your device has, check your printer's documentation or contact your printer's manufacturer. If you use PostScript Level 2 or Adobe PostScript 3 devices, we strongly recommend AdobePS 4.2.x instead.
The AdobePS 4.1.x driver and the AdobePS 4.2.x driver use the same filename (Adobeps4.drv), so they cannot be installed on the same computer simultaneously. If you have a PostScript Level 1 device, you can only use AdobePS 4.1.x or the Microsoft PostScript printer driver that was included with Windows. | | Filename | adbeps41.zip | | Product | Printer Drivers | | Version | 4.x | | Platform | Windows | | Released On | 07/12/96 | | Size | 1017K |

System Requirements
- Microsoft Windows 95 U.S. English
- Any printer that includes Adobe PostScript
- A PostScript Printer Description (PPD) file
Handling Notes After downloading a ".zip" file in Windows, use WinZip(R) by Nico Mak Computing (http://www.winzip.com/) or PKZIP(R) by PKWare, Inc. (http://www.pkware.com/) to access the file's contents. Both products are available in tryout/evaluation versions. Need help with downloading? See our Downloading Help documents. Installation of this driver requires a PostScript Printer Description (PPD) file for your printer.
If you need a PPD file, do one or more of the following:
1. Most PostScript printers include a floppy disk that contains the PPD file for the printer. If you cannot find this disk, contact your printer manufacturer for a replacement.
2. Visit your printer manufacturer's Web site or FTP site to obtain the PPD file.
3. Visit Adobe online services such as the Adobe Web site, which may have the PPD file you need. SPECIAL NOTE: Adobe redistributes a number of PPD files for Macintosh and Windows as a courtesy to Adobe customers but does not guarantee to have the PPD file you need.
4. If you work with a service bureau or print shop to create professionally printed documents, they may have the PPD file you need.
PLEASE NOTE: Your printer manufacturer is ultimately responsible for providing you with a PPD file. Neither Adobe nor your service provider is obligated to provide you with a PPD file.
1. Have your PPD file ready, either on a floppy disk or on your hard drive before you install AdobePS.
2. Quit all open applications.
3. Double-click the Setup or Setup.exe file included in the Adbeps41.zip archive to begin the installation.
4. Follow the on-screen installation instructions until the installation is complete. Download the file from the Adobe FTP site: USA ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/printerdrivers/win/4.x/adbeps41.zip Japan ftp://ftp-pac.adobe.com/pub/adobe/printerdrivers/win/4.x/adbeps41.zip
