Academic
Libraries of Indiana (ALI) participants may apply in person for limited borrowing privileges at the Cushwa-Leighton
Library during regular business hours ( M -F 8:00 - 4:00 p.m.).
Special library cards will
be issued to ALI participants when they provide valid identification, a valid
academic institution e-mail address, and permission
from their participating ALI home library. ALI library cards will be valid
at the Cushwa-Leighton
Library only for one semester if you are a student and for one academic year
if you are faculty.
Materials from the General
Collection may be borrowed for a period of 28 days. ALI participants may
not renew or place a recall request on these materials. Please
check the online catalog or
inquire at the circulation
desk (574) 284-5278 if the material you require is not on the shelf.
It is your responsibility
to return library materials on time. Library materials that
are not returned or renewed by the due date are subject to overdue
notices and service charges. Overdue reminders will be sent primarily
via e-mail. Failure to receive overdue reminders does not exempt you
from returning materials by the due date. NOTE: Materials returned
by INCOLSA
Wheels services can take longer to be discharged.
Items not returned
after 30 days from the due date will be presumed lost. A
lost book fee of $60.00 will be automatically assessed. This charge
includes a $40.00 book replacement fee*
and a $20.00 processing fee.
All library charges
must be paid in the College Business Office. Unpaid library charges may result
in patron borrowing privileges being restricted
until
the matter
is resolved
and may result in having an unpaid account turned
over to a collection agency. ALI cardholders
will have copies of the detailed bill sent to their
home institution and may face further penalties at
that institution.
Questions about this
policy should be directed to the Collection
Management Supervisor.
Theft and mutilation
of library materials are state offenses, Indiana
Code 35-43-4-3.5, and, therefore, are matters for College disciplinary
action. Inspection of books, briefcases, backpacks, and handbags may be
requested to ensure that library materials are properly checked out.
