Circulation
Policies
A
core service of the library is the
loaning of materials to currently enrolled members
of the scholarly community. The library does this by
maintaining a database of registered borrowers and
giving patrons access to the collections of
the Cushwa-Leighton Library, the College
Archives and the Music
Seminar Room. In providing borrowing privileges,
the library promotes use of the scholarly materials,
ensures the rights of borrowers (to that end all circulation
records are confidential), and protects the interests
of Saint Mary's College. Library policies are
designed to create an environment that is fair to all
library users in relation to their
need for and access to the library's collections.
All
borrowers accept responsibility for the library materials
borrowed with the issued College identification card
or issued library card. Borrowers agree to reimburse
the College for the recovery cost of materials that
are lost, damaged, or stolen and any attending processing
fees. Questions about these policies should be directed
to the Collection
Management Supervisor.
