The online
catalog is available for searching for materials. Please inquire at the
circulation desk 284-5278 if the material you require is not on the shelf. Interlibrary
loan services are also available for Saint
Mary's College students. All circulating materials, with the exception of Course
Reserve materials, are subject to being recalled for use by another patron.
A recall may be issued for books
after they have been in circulation for a minimum of 7 days. Recalls may be
placed from the online
catalog through "My Account."
Course
reserve materials can be searched in the course
reserve catalog by instructor name, course name/number and title. Printed
lists of course reserve materials, organized by instructors' names and course
numbers are also available in
notebooks at the circulation desk.
It
is your responsibility to return
library materials on time. Library materials
that are not returned or renewed by the due date
are subject to overdue notices and service charges.
Overdue reminders will be sent primarily
via e-mail. Failure to receive overdue reminders
does not exempt you from the due date.
Items
not returned after 30 days from the due date
will be presumed lost. A lost book
fee of $60.00 will be automatically assessed
to your Student Account. This charge includes
a $40.00 book replacement fee* and a $20.00
processing fee.
Note:
At the end of the semester due dates are adjusted
(shortened) to correspond with finals week. Materials
that have not been returned by the last day of
finals are billed immediately as lost items.
All
fees must be paid in
the Student Accounts office of your home
institution. Unpaid library fees may result in patron
borrowing privileges being restricted and/or holds
on transcripts until the matter is resolved. If
the material is returned in good condition to the
Library within
the year after it has been billed will have the replacement
fee ($40.00) refunded.
Questions
about this policy should be directed to the Collection
Management Supervisor.
Theft
and mutilation of library materials are state offenses, Indiana
Code 35-43-4-3.5, and, therefore, are matters
for College disciplinary action. Inspection of books,
briefcases, backpacks, and handbags may be requested
to ensure that library materials are properly checked out.
