Collections

The
General
Collection, located on the top three floors, contains over 229,000 volumes
arranged in the Library of Congress Classification System.
Books in this collection may be checked out with
a valid borrower's card.

The
College Archives, located in the lower level of the library, B26, contains
non-circulating materials pertaining to the history of Saint Mary's from
1844 to the present along with
the Rare
Book Room and a wide-range of
other College publications.

The
Audio Visual collection, including
CDs, DVD's, video tapes and some sound recordings, is located on the second floor
of the library.

The Music
Seminar Room, located in the Moreau Center for the Arts, room 322, houses
the music department's
collection
of
scores,
music
recordings,
and videos.

Course
Reserve materials are required readings located at the course reserve
desk and are listed in the
course
reserve catalog.

Periodicals include
newspapers, news magazines, microforms and scholarly
journals in print and electronic
format. They
are arranged in alphabetical
order by title with current titles located on the
first floor and back issues located in the lower level.

The
Reference Collection, located on the first
floor, contains dictionaries, encyclopedias, handbooks,
directories,
maps, statistics,
guides and bibliographies in all subject areas
and is a good collection to use to start your research.
