Students are encouraged to find summer internships or apprentice positions
in business or industry following their second and third years. The
department maintains a file of information on the availability of such
opportunities which is available to students on request. The Career
Development Center also assists in locating these opportunities. Resumes
should be prepared in the fall and sent to appropriate possible employers.
Math majors who intern are usually paid a salary. Faculty advisors can
be helpful in preparing resumes and identifying appropriate companies.
