Teaching:

Course web sites are available on Blackboard. Interests interests include teaching a variety of undergraduate applied mathematics courses and mathematics education courses.

Education

Ph.D. Mathematics, Purdue University2006
M.S Applied Mathematics, University of Iowa 1999
B.S Mathematics, University of Iowa with K-12 Teaching Certification 1996

Research:

My research interests include flow and transport in porous media, dispersion theories, and multiscale modeling. The mathematical tools I currently use include statistical mechanical formulations, hybrid mixture theory (continuum mechanics), micromorphic fluids, and stochastic differential models and simulations. I also work with data from particle tracking fluid mechanics experiments to investigate anomalous disperision. I have an interest in mathematics education research as well as development of interdisciplinary courses. If you would like to read more here is a description of some projects and results and publication list. A relatively current CV
