Post-Graduate Service Opportunities

There are a variety of programs available depending upon your interests, where you would like to be geographically, and your skills. Below we have placed the programs into various categories to make the search easier. Still, the number of programs can be overwhelming. To help you in your search, consider the following:

1. Take your time. Spend time looking through the variety of programs and what they have to offer. Reflect carefully on your own interests and gifts.
2. Jot down points or comments about programs that stand out to you. This will help you narrow the field and compare between programs.
3. Integrate your search into your prayer or spiritual life. These programs require a commitment. Sometimes it helps to pray about where you are called to be or what exactly you are called to be doing.
4. Talk with a trusted friend or another adult who can help you in your discernment process.
5. Note application deadlines.

Note: While we have places various programs into specific categories, be aware that those listed under “General” also may contain opportunities in education, social work, etc.

Important: Almost all programs offer room and board, transportation and a monthly stipend. Some of these arrangements vary. Look carefully to see what benefits are available and check to see what else is included such as health care, educational awards, bonuses, and so forth.

How to Start: You may browse through the categories listed below. But for more information and to narrow your search by location, length of time, type of service, etc,. go to the Catholic Network of Volunteer Service: www.cnvs.org
