The Junk folder is where messages that may be junk mail (spam) are placed by the ZMail Zimbra e-mail system. You can review these messages to make sure they are, in fact, all junk before deleting them.

If you receive a message that is junk (spam), you can open the message and click on the "Junk" button in the message's toolbar. The message will be moved to your Junk folder. (You can also click the message when it is listed in your inbox and drag it to the Junk folder to move it.)

You can empty the Junk folder by right-clicking on the Junk folder and choosing Empty Junk. (If you are using a Mac with a one-button mouse, hitting the Control key on your keyboard and clicking will give you the same option to Empty Junk.)

Moving junk (spam) messages to the Junk folder teaches the e-mail system that the message is junk (spam) and the system should mark it as Junk or delete it immediately in the future.

We will continue to have the Spam Firewall sifting through our spam. As always, you will receive an e-mail when our Spam Firewall "traps" messages that you may want to receive.

Messages sent to the Junk folder may be due to suspicious subject lines or attachments.

You can always whitelist addresses so that they are not trapped by the Spam Firewall in the future. Instructions for whitelisting addresses are available here.
