Strategic Plan Priorities

Based on the meeting of the Strategic Plan Advisory Committee and the Administrative Council, February 5, 2002

 

Area of Focus: Educate Women to Make a Difference in a Complex World.

Strategic Initiative 1: Examine and renew the current state of general education. Includes the structure & governance of general education, and infusing diversity across the curriculum

Strategic Initiative 3: Examine and enhance the way in which students integrate learning across the curriculum. Includes action details related to advising and information technology, as well as defining what we mean by integration.

Area of Focus: Cultivate Leadership and Enhance Communication.

Strategic Initiative 2: Articulate authority and responsibility for decision making. Includes college governance (structure & potential changes); better integration of decisions regarding information technology & enrollment management; and increase interaction of college administration with Faculty Assembly.

Strategic Initiative 1: Design a process for further integration of the mission into the life of the College. Includes attention to and resolution of written mission statement.

Strategic Initiative 6: Explore the College's relationship with its sponsor, the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, in order to anticipate long-term effects of changes in both institutions. [Added March 2002, with the concurrence of the Board & Senior Officers]

Area of Focus: Recruit, retain, and graduate a Vital and Diverse Student Body

Strategic Initiative 2: Develop and implement an effective Enrollment Management Plan in order to achieve optimum enrollment and enrich the vitality of the College. Includes developing a research cycle, the enrollment management plan, and marketing the distinct features of the College. (Actions 1 & 3 stem from Action 2).

Area of Focus: Develop and Focus Resources to Advance the Mission of Saint Mary's College.

Strategic Initiative 1: Base funding decision on strategic plan priorities

Strategic Initiative 5: Maintain currency of electronic environment to ensure optimal information technology capabilities at Saint Mary’s College.

Strategic Initiative 5, Action1: Improve information technology budgeting and planning process.
