Saint Mary's, Calvin Compete to Scoreless Draw

NOTRE DAME, IN – In the second home match of the season, Saint Mary’s and Calvin competed for 90 minutes in a contest that ended with a 0-0 score on Wednesday afternoon.

The Belles record now stands at 3-1-1 while Calvin moves to 2-3-1.

In the opening 45 minutes of competition the Knights out-shot Saint Mary’s 4-0 but couldn’t find the back of the net. Calvin once again posted a shot advantage (10-1) in the second half but were held without a goal.

Amy Mahoney made five saves for the Belles in posting her third shutout of the season while Calvin goalie Kayla Sulzer recorded one save to record her first shutout of the year.

It is the first 0-0 tie for the Belles since Oct. 28, 2006 when they faced Kalamazoo.
