Volleyball - Tri-State Knocks Off Saint Mary’s in Regular Season Finale (October 27)
October 27, 2007, ANGOLA, IN – In the final regular match for both teams, the Tri-State volleyball team knocked off Saint Mary’s 3-1 (30-26, 30-23, 27-30, 30-22) on Saturday afternoon at Hershey Hall in MIAA action.
The win lifts Tri-State’s record to 13-14 overall and 10-6 in league play while the Belles fall to 13-17 and 6-10 respectively. The two teams will meet again on Tuesday evening in the first round of the league tournament. Tri-State will be the fourth seed while Saint Mary’s is seeded fifth.
In Saturday’s match Andrea Sasgen tallied team highs with 15 kills and 17 digs for the Belles. The freshman also added five blocks assists to her performance. Kaela Hellmann also registered a double-double with a 13-kill, 10-dig effort.
Lorna Slupnzyski and Marisa Gross notched 14 and 13 digs respectively. Amanda David dished off 44 assists.
Tia Roberts and Sallie Richardson tallied 21 kills each to pace the Thunder offense.
