Belles Finish Spring Trip with Sweep

FORT MYERS, FL – On their final day of their 10-game, five-day spring break trip the Saint Mary’s softball team took a pair of games. In the morning they knocked off Worchester Polytechnic Institute 10-2 in six innings and completed the sweep with a five-inning 11-2 win over Dominican in the afternoon.

Saint Mary’s finishes the season opening trip with an 8-2 record.

During the win over Worchester Polytechnic Institute a pair of Saint Mary’s hitters posted three hits each. Maureen Healy went 3-for-4 and scored a pair of runs while Ashley Peterson also posted a 3-for-4 performance. Peterson drove in four runs and scored another.

As a team the Belles tallied 13 hits in the game shorten by the mercy rule.

Calli Davison scattered eight hits and struck out seven in posting the win on the mound.

The Saint Mary’s offense continued its strong effort as they scored 11 runs on seven hits in the five inning contest against Dominican. Ashley Fusaro went 2-for-4 with a triple, a run scored and an RBI.

McKenna Corrigan posted her second win of the season on the mound as she scattered seven hits and struck out two. At the plate Corrigan went 1-for-2 with two RBI’s and a run scored.
