Saint Mary’s Sweeps Robert Morris

CHICAGO, IL – Playing their first games in over two weeks, the Saint Mary’s softball team took a pair of games from Robert Morris on Wednesday afternoon. The Belles won the opener 6-3 before taking the nightcap by a 10-6 count.

Saint Mary’s record now stands at 10-2 while Robert Morris moves to 11-4

In the opener the three different players produced all of the Belles hitting offense in the win. McKenna Corrigan went 2-for-3 with three RBI’s batting from the sixth spot. Ashley Peterson also posted a 2-for-3 effort at the plate while driving in two runs and scoring another. Cathy Kurczak recorded a two-hit performance and scored two runs.

On the mound, Calli Davison posted her sixth win of the year by scattering seven hits and striking out two in the complete game.

During the second game Peterson led an 11-hit Saint Mary’s attack by going 3-for-4 with three RBI’s and scoring another. Maureen Healy also drove in three runs during a two-hit evening for the sophomore. Sara Montelongo went 2-for-3 with a run scored while driving in one.

Corrigan posted the win on the rubber going all seven innings for the win to up her record to 4-0.
