POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – The Saint Mary’s golf team came up six strokes short in an attempt to win the Vassar Invitational on Sunday afternoon at the Casperkill Golf Course. The Belles finished second with a two-round team total of 691 to finish behind Williams who fired a 685.

The Belles entered the final round of the two-day event 14 shots off the lead but couldn’t quite make up the difference during the final 18 holes.

Rosie O’Conner posted the best team score for Saint Mary’s, firing a 161 to tie for second place among individuals. Hayley Milbourn from Amherst shot a 160 to take individual medalist honors.

The second best scorers for the Belles were Katie O’Brien and Emily Gore who each carded a 174 to finish tied for tied 16th overall. Perri Hamma shot a 182 while Michelle Hird rounded out the scorers for Saint Mary’s with a 194.
